About the role
The Senior Staff Nurse will join the dynamic rehab/post‑acute team on Bignold Ward at Caithness General Hospital. This role is central to delivering high‑quality post‑acute and rehabilitation care for patients with complex conditions such as stroke, neurological disorders, orthopaedic injuries and elderly care needs.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive post‑acute and rehabilitation nursing care to patients with complex medical needs.
- Support the Senior Charge Nurse in staff development, mentorship and performance appraisal.
- Promote a positive team culture and collaborative working environment.
- Maintain and uphold high standards of patient safety and clinical quality.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning.
Required profile
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Band 5 nursing experience in a similar post‑acute or rehabilitation setting.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and CPD.
