Senior Software Engineer – Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you will work on cutting‑edge semiconductor equipment software, leveraging machine learning and AI to create innovative solutions for high‑value customer problems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop code for complex software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices.
• Develop software documentation and test procedures.
• Troubleshoot a variety of difficult software problems.
• Design and implement bug fixes.
• Define software specifications and test plans for simulators, test benches or the lab.
• Communicate with internal and external customers for requirement analysis, project scheduling and software troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4–7 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++, operating systems, networking principles, algorithms, multi‑threading and RPC.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• Leadership ability to lead small projects when needed.
