Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Ethoca, a Mastercard company, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a highly agile team building innovative, large‑scale products for global markets. The role involves full‑stack development, test automation, and delivery of cloud‑native services that support fraud prevention and dispute management.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in team prioritisation discussions with product and business stakeholders.
• Estimate, design, develop, test, deploy, configure and document delivery tasks to meet business requirements.
• Drive code, design and process trade‑off discussions and mentor less‑experienced team members.
• Report status, manage risks and improve operational metrics for owned services.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable automated validation frameworks.
• Review test architecture, automation code and quality solutions, promoting shift‑left testing practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience covering the full SDLC.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python or JavaScript.
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
• Hands‑on experience with REST APIs, microservices, event‑driven architectures, distributed systems and cloud‑native applications.
• Proficiency with CI/CD platforms such as GitLab, Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Experience using automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured or Postman.
• Good understanding of DBT testing, SQL data validation and Agile/DevOps practices.
