Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack & Test Automation

About the role

Mastercard’s Global Data Repository (GDR) powers a range of commercial products by aggregating daily transaction data from issuers and partners. The Senior Software Engineer will join a cross‑functional, Agile SAFE team in Pune, collaborating with developers, testers, architects and product owners to deliver secure, high‑quality payment data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in business requirement reviews, story elaboration and testing activities to deliver incremental value each iteration.
• Design, develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and both manual exploratory tests.
• Contribute to code reviews, architectural design and write comprehensive test plans using JIRA or Rally.
• Own end‑to‑end product quality, including defect management, status reporting and escalation.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership without direct managerial duties.

Required profile

• Proven track record delivering large‑scale software applications as a senior developer.
• Strong experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Rally, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and leadership skills, able to guide multiple test paths.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting is a plus.
