Senior Software Engineer - Developer Productivity

About the role

Fivetran is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Platform Ops team and boost developer productivity. You will build and improve internal tooling, AI‑based workflows, and observability systems that make engineering work faster and more reliable.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement internal tools and services in Python and/or Go for the developer platform.
• Automate common engineering workflows such as scaffolding, environment setup, releases, and runbook steps.
• Develop AI‑driven workflows that reduce manual effort and improve infrastructure operations.
• Enhance observability (metrics, logs, traces) for platform services to simplify debugging.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and create automation to prevent repeat incidents.

Required profile

• Professional software engineering experience with Python and/or Go.
• Proven experience building developer productivity tooling (CI systems, build tooling, workflow automation).
• Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong fundamentals in testing, code review, debugging, and operating production services.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross‑team environment.
