Senior Safety Officer – Plant & Electrical Safety

About the role

Siemens is seeking a Senior Safety Officer to lead plant and electrical safety initiatives at its Pune (Ranjangaon) site. The role focuses on implementing safety management systems, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with industry standards across construction and maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) across the site.
• Conduct near‑miss reporting, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
• Manage PPE programs, work permits, and Lockout‑Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Prepare monthly EHS data, analyse trends, and develop corrective action plans.
• Monitor safety performance, conduct audits, and enforce Factory Act rules.
• Provide safety training and awareness sessions for plant personnel.

Required profile

• B.E./Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a Diploma in Industrial Safety (mandatory).
• 6‑8 years of relevant experience, including 3‑4 years in a safety leadership role.
• Hands‑on experience in industrial environments such as refineries, petrochemicals, or automotive manufacturing.
• Proven ability to analyse safety data and generate actionable reports.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence site personnel.
