Senior Rolling Stock Expert (Electrical/Mechanical) – BID Position

About the role

SYSTRA is looking for a Senior Rolling Stock Expert to lead the technical definition of rolling‑stock solutions for metro bids across India. The role blends electrical and mechanical expertise to ensure that propulsion, braking, HVAC, bogies, traction motors and auxiliary systems integrate seamlessly with the overall metro infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical requirements for propulsion, braking, HVAC, bogies, traction motors and auxiliary systems.
• Coordinate with signalling, telecommunications, track and depot teams to guarantee system integration.
• Support factory acceptance tests, dynamic trials and commissioning activities.
• Ensure designs comply with Indian regulations and international standards (UIC, IEC, EN) and metro rail guidelines.
• Prepare technical inputs, compliance matrices and subsystem design documentation for bid submissions.
• Review supplier proposals, evaluate technical solutions and monitor delivery schedules for rolling‑stock components.

Required profile

• Graduate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in the railway or railway‑related industry.
• At least 5 years of experience in urban rail passenger‑carrying systems.
