Senior Production Associate (Welder / Fitter)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Production Associate specialized in welding and fitting to join our fabrication shop. The role involves assembling, fitting and fabricating metal components for heavy‑duty equipment such as turbines and generators, ensuring high quality and strict safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine fitting and welding requirements.
• Assemble, align, grind, mark, measure and cut metal parts using hand tools, power tools, gas cutting and machining equipment.
• Prepare and position components for welding, then execute welding operations using TIG, MIG, SMAW and SAW processes.
• Perform groove welds (T‑joints, knuckle, corner and butt joints) on material thicknesses above 40 mm.
• Maintain rigorous safety standards, follow EHS guidelines and report any hazards immediately.
• Document work according to WPS, PQR and welding books.

Required profile

• ITI fitter or diploma in a relevant technical field; apprenticeship preferred.
• 5‑8 years of experience in heavy fabrication or pressure‑vessel fabrication.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) and related safety procedures.
