Senior Manager – Supply & Distribution Planning

About the role

The Senior Manager – Supply & Distribution Planning is responsible for ensuring that goods are delivered to all locations at the right SKU level, meeting OTIF and inventory targets. The role combines strategic inventory control with day‑to‑day operational oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement optimized inventory control procedures.
• Maintain adequate product stock across all distribution channels to meet direct customer demand.
• Record daily deliveries and shipments, reconciling inventory records.
• Utilize software tools to monitor demand and track inventory characteristics.
• Place replenishment orders, avoiding stockouts and excess surplus.
• Analyze data to forecast future needs and conduct SLOB, safety‑stock, and cyclic‑stock analyses.
• Evaluate suppliers for cost‑effective deals and nurture trusted relationships.
• Collaborate with warehouse teams and cross‑functional stakeholders to achieve business goals.
• Report stock levels, issues, and performance metrics to senior management.
• Lead initiatives to prevent non‑moving inventory and coordinate liquidation of slow‑moving stock.

Required profile

• 5‑9 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a postgraduate degree in Management (preferably from tier‑1 institutes such as NITIE, IIM, SP Jain).
• Strong understanding of S&OP processes, statistics, supply‑chain drivers, inventory management, production operations, and ERP systems.
• Proven ability to manage teams, set goals, and drive performance.
• Experience tracking order fill rate, inventory vs. budget, distribution plan adherence, and freight cost optimization.
