Senior Manager – Labour Law & Statutory Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead our Labour Law and Statutory Compliance function across India. The role will ensure that the organization adheres to all applicable labour codes, social security regulations and state‑specific employment laws, while proactively monitoring legislative changes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce compliance with the New Labour Codes (Code on Wages, Industrial Relations Code, OSHWC Code, Code on Social Security) and existing employment statutes across multiple Indian states.
• Oversee statutory filings and registrations for EPF, ESI, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, Gratuity, Bonus, Minimum Wages, Maternity Benefit, Equal Remuneration, Shops & Establishments, and Contract Labour.
• Maintain statutory registers, records and documentation, and coordinate inspections and audits by labour authorities.
• Develop and implement compliance frameworks, conduct impact assessments of legislative updates, and provide guidance to business units.
• Lead stakeholder engagement, training programmes and liaison with central and state government agencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration or related field; Master’s/MBA in HR, Labour Laws, Industrial Relations or Compliance preferred.
• 8–12 years of hands‑on experience in labour law compliance, statutory reporting and regulatory affairs, preferably in services or large‑workforce environments.
• Professional certifications in Labour Laws, Compliance or Industrial Relations are an advantage.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Indian labour legislation and the new Labour Codes.
• Experience with government portals and statutory filing processes.
• Ability to manage audits, inspections and regulatory liaison.
