Senior Manager Finance / Assistant Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Senior Manager Finance / Assistant Controller to lead day‑to‑day financial accounting, reporting, controllership, compliance, and process‑improvement initiatives. The role reports to the Regional Controller and partners closely with global finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes and prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and Indian Accounting Standards.
• Oversee statutory and tax audits, ensure compliance with Companies Act, GST, TDS and other regulations, and coordinate with external auditors.
• Interpret and implement US GAAP guidance, evaluate complex transactions and prepare technical accounting memos.
• Act as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors, driving audit planning, execution and timely resolution of observations.
• Collaborate with FP&A, tax, treasury, legal and operational teams to provide financial insights for strategic decisions.
• Lead, mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a high‑performing culture.
• Enhance accounting processes, support ERP implementations and drive automation to improve efficiency.
• Oversee Global Shared Services, establishing SLAs, KPIs and governance for finance delivery across geographies.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 audit or advisory background.
• Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA or MBA in Finance.
• Experience working with US‑based multinational companies and exposure to shared services or finance transformation environments.
• Proven ability to manage teams and interact with senior leadership.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Indian Accounting Standards.
• Understanding of SOX and internal control frameworks.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Familiarity with automation tools for reporting and reconciliation.
