Senior Global Payroll Specialist

About the role

As a Senior Global Payroll Specialist you will join 3M’s shared services team, supporting payroll operations across multiple countries. You will work in an outsourced environment, partnering with external payroll providers to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing and compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide full oversight of payroll activities for assigned global countries, ensuring outsourced providers deliver accurate and timely results.
• Serve as the subject‑matter expert for country‑specific payroll regulations, tax rules, and compliance requirements.
• Conduct detailed payroll reviews, comparing current outcomes with prior periods and validated data.
• Oversee payroll tax submissions, statutory filings, and required payments.
• Maintain and coordinate payroll schedules to align internal partners and external vendors.
• Confirm accurate reporting and taxation of equity, cash, and non‑cash benefits.
• Resolve employee pay questions with clear, timely communication.
• Support audits with strong documentation, reliable data, and effective internal controls.
• Identify discrepancies, risks, or inefficiencies and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multi‑country payrolls in an outsourced or shared‑services model.
• Deep knowledge of payroll regulations, tax rules, and compliance across various jurisdictions.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed payroll reviews and audits.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with employees, internal partners, and external vendors.
• Ability to manage vendor relationships and ensure service quality.
