Senior Engineer – Overhead Line (Rail)

About the role

As a Senior Engineer you will lead the design of Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) schemes for rail projects, ensuring technical excellence, safety and constructability across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) schemes for rail projects.
• Produce technical designs including layout plans, cross‑sections, allocations, isolation diagrams, bonding designs and supporting calculations.
• Ensure designs comply with current standards, are constructible and follow Safe‑by‑Design principles.
• Coordinate with other design and construction disciplines and respond to queries during construction.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in OLE technical design for rail.
• Proven experience with UKMS, Series‑1, Series‑2, Mk3B, GEFF, Mk1, SICAT, SNCF, UK1 or similar OLE ranges.
• Strong knowledge of isolation diagrams, earthing and bonding for electrification.
• Experience working in a 3‑D common data environment and following BIM procedures.
• Ability to manage teams and develop client relationships.
