Senior Engineer I, Data & Analytics

About the role

Invesco is seeking a Senior Engineer I to lead its Data & Analytics initiatives, focusing on Power BI platform excellence and enterprise‑wide reporting transformation. The role combines technical leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and mentorship of analytics teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and guidance to analytics team members, fostering skill development in Power BI development, data modelling and platform administration.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert for the Power BI platform, defining standards, best practices and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
• Partner with business leaders to migrate reporting from legacy tools such as Crystal Reports to Power BI, driving adoption and smooth transition.
• Architect, build and optimise scalable, secure data sets and dashboards, collaborating with business and technology partners to resolve complex issues.
• Lead analytics projects from conception through delivery, identifying risks and ensuring high‑quality outcomes.
• Oversee Power BI service, enterprise data gateway, user and group management, Active Directory integration, premium capacity and deployment pipelines.
• Establish and enforce governance, security and compliance standards for Power BI usage.
• Design and deliver training programmes for both technical staff and business users.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of analytics experience, including at least 4 years hands‑on with Power BI platform administration and solution architecture.
• Proven track record of building, optimising and managing complex Power BI dashboards and data models.
• Experience leading migrations from other BI tools (e.g., Crystal Reports) and training non‑technical users.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, dimensional modelling, SQL, data warehousing and dashboard design.
• Experience with Power BI Report Builder, Power Automate and familiarity with Tableau.
