Senior Engineer – BESS BMS

About the role

Join Bosch's embedded software team in Bengaluru to develop Battery Management System (BMS) software for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). As a senior engineer you will lead specific modules, ensuring high‑quality, on‑time delivery that meets customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and test BMS software modules for BESS applications.
• Act as module lead, coordinating development, integration and verification activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet functional safety and compliance standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead small feature teams.
• Drive CI/CD integration, static analysis and hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing.

Required profile

• B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• 6–10 years of experience in embedded software development for power electronics.
• Proven leadership experience in small teams.

Required skills

• Deep expertise with S32K3 MCU family and AFE daisy‑chaining.
• Strong knowledge of communication protocols: TPL/isoSPI, CAN, Ethernet, Modbus.
• Advanced BMS functions: SOC/SOH/SOP, temperature compensation, passive & active balancing, fault detection.
• Functional safety implementation up to SIL2 (CRC, watchdog, memory tests).
• Compliance with IEC 60730‑1, IEC 61508 SIL2, UL 1973.
• Tools: CI/CD pipelines, MCAL, MISRA, Polyspace, HIL/SIL testing, Python automation.
