Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Design Engineer

About the role

Assystem is seeking a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Design Engineer to lead detailed engineering, design and coordination of electrical and instrumentation systems for water supply, sewerage networks, pumping stations, Water Treatment Plants (WTP) and Sewage Treatment Plants (STP).

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete design packages including drawings, BOQs, technical specifications and vendor coordination for electrical and instrumentation systems across water and wastewater projects.
• Perform electrical load calculations, power distribution, HT/LT system design, transformer and generator sizing, cable sizing and single‑line diagram creation.
• Design control and automation solutions using PLCs and SCADA, including motor selection, VFD implementation, MCC/PCC panels and remote monitoring integration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 5–12 years of experience on water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with IEC, IS and IEEE standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP and Dialux.
• PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider) and SCADA system integration.
• Electrical load calculations, power distribution, HT/LT design, transformer and generator sizing.
• Instrumentation design for water treatment (pH, turbidity, chlorine, flow, pressure and level sensors) and hazardous area classification.
