Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. The role involves independent work, client interaction, and collaboration with technical leads to ensure high‑quality deliverables on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Produce concept, FEED and detailed designs for electrical systems, including single line diagrams (SLD), AC/DC SLDs, layouts, cable schedules and interconnection schedules.
• Prepare specifications, bulk material take‑offs (MTO) and technical data sheets for equipment such as transformers, DG sets, switchgear, UPS, batteries, lifts and fire‑alarm systems.
• Perform equipment sizing calculations for transformers, generators, HV/LV cables, UPS, capacitor banks, conductors, fault levels, illumination and earthing/lightning protection.
• Design internal and external electrification, substation layouts, trench/tray routing, road lighting, security systems, solar water heating and HVAC (central & package) installations.
• Review vendor drawings, evaluate technical bids, monitor installation, and resolve design issues on site.
• Attend client meetings for technical clarifications and coordinate with project leads to keep schedules on track.

Required profile

• 8‑15 years of experience in electrical engineering design for building and infrastructure projects.
• Experience with datacenters, substations, hotels, hospitals, universities, high‑rises, malls and commercial buildings.
• Hands‑on knowledge of domestic and international energy‑efficiency and building codes.
• Overseas project experience is a plus.
