Senior Direct Tax Advisory Associate – Mumbai

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Associate to provide direct tax advisory services on complex corporate transactions. The role involves working closely with clients on mergers, demergers, spin‑offs, business transfers and related regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on direct tax aspects of mergers, demergers, spin‑offs and business transfers.
• Prepare and review transaction documentation.
• Conduct tax due diligence for corporate deals.
• Provide international tax advice focusing on BEPS, MLI, GAAR, DTAA, domestic tax laws and FEMA regulations.
• Assist with direct tax litigation, including drafting submissions and briefing senior counsel.
• Research varied income‑tax issues and produce deliverables such as slide decks, opinions, notes and memos.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of relevant experience in tax advisory or related practice.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Demonstrated learning agility, client centricity, teamwork, process orientation, personal effectiveness, and strong drafting/presentation abilities.
