Senior Design & Project Coordinator – Airport Projects

About the role

Senior Design & Project Coordinator reports to the Project Director/Project Head and leads design management, engineering coordination and technical integration for an airport development programme. The role coordinates multidisciplinary design consultants, review teams, contractors and package managers to ensure timely delivery of design deliverables and alignment with construction priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities across terminal, airside, landside, utility and airport support facility packages.
• Maintain design registers, approval trackers, interface matrices and risk registers, and prioritize GFC drawings in line with construction schedules.
• Manage interfaces between architecture, structural, civil, MEP, utility and airport systems, incorporating site observations, operational requirements and statutory comments.
• Act as primary technical liaison between construction teams and design consultants, reviewing contractor submittals and resolving RFIs, design deficiencies and engineering queries.
• Ensure compliance with DGCA, ICAO, BCAS, AAI, NBC, BIS and environmental regulations, and coordinate closure of review comments.
• Monitor design progress, maintain dashboards and action trackers, and prepare executive reports for project leadership.

Required profile

• Proven leadership in design management and multidisciplinary coordination of large, complex airport infrastructure projects.
• Strong expertise in constructability reviews, engineering integration and resolution of complex design and site‑related issues.
• In‑depth knowledge of aviation regulations (DGCA, ICAO, BCAS, AAI, NBC, BIS) and airport operational interfaces.
• Ability to identify design risks early and develop practical engineering solutions to protect schedule, cost, quality and safety.
• Experience with BIM‑based coordination, digital design management systems and project analytics tools.
