Senior Design Engineer – MEP Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and review of water supply, drainage and waste systems for MEP projects in Chennai. The role involves selecting pipes, equipment and fixtures, and ensuring compliance with building and fire codes throughout all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review potable water, sanitary drainage and storm‑water systems, including pipe sizing and equipment selection.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to integrate MEP systems and provide technical support from concept to completion.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, schedules and cost estimates for materials, labour and equipment.
• Perform technical calculations, simulations and verify compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Conduct site inspections, resolve on‑site issues and select durable fixtures and fire‑protection solutions.
• Support additional tasks as directed by management within the scope of the role.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (BE/ME).
• 8–12 years of experience in MEP design, preferably in water supply and drainage systems.
• Strong knowledge of building and fire codes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and reviewing design drawings.
