Senior Data Engineer – Data & AI Platform

About the role

Mastercard’s Data & AI Foundations team is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and build core platform capabilities that power analytics and AI workloads across the organization. This platform‑engineering role focuses on creating reliable, reusable data pipelines and services that enable multiple product teams to deliver insights at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platform services supporting diverse product teams.
• Create reusable patterns for data ingestion, transformation, and serving with an emphasis on reliability and consistency.
• Collaborate with AI engineers, platform teams, and product owners to ensure data systems meet enterprise standards.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data workflows.
• Contribute to the evolution of platform standards, documentation, and best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in building large‑scale data pipelines and platform services.
• Strong understanding of data engineering fundamentals and a platform‑first mindset.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with AI, product, and engineering teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
