Senior Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

As a senior member of Qualcomm's cyber exposure management team, you will protect the company from data breaches, hacking attempts, insider threats, and other cyber‑attacks. You will act as a security evangelist, driving hardening initiatives across enterprise and cloud environments while collaborating with red and blue teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed firewall rule reviews, clean‑up activities and create reusable rule patterns.
• Maintain and update SOPs, harden network devices, and automate security controls.
• Ensure firewall configurations follow CIS Benchmarks and industry‑standard security controls.
• Provide security recommendations for applications, systems and network devices.
• Develop best‑practice guidance for cloud platforms and track remediation of security findings.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership across the information security group.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT, cyber security or a related area.
• 3+ years of experience with firewall and network security hardening (CIS Benchmark).
• 4+ years of experience conducting detailed rule reviews.
