Senior Content Development Specialist

About the role

The Senior Content Development Specialist will design, manage and execute content publishing strategies for medical reference products such as ClinicalKey and Expert Consult. The role focuses on creating customer‑focused electronic and print content, overseeing format decisions, multimedia integration and revision cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate content rendering issues and guide authors to maximise customer benefit.
• Plan and develop electronic and print content that meets market needs and drives market share.
• Advise on content writing to improve online discoverability.
• Participate in planning and implementation of content delivery and updates for platforms like ClinicalKey and Expert Consult.
• Develop and communicate guidelines for writers regarding formats, illustrations and reference style.
• Review all stages of writing to ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Monitor budget, schedule and contract negotiations.
• Create content maps linking text to assets and design enhancements for various electronic formats.

Required profile

• Minimum 3+ years experience in content development, preferably for higher‑education or medical publishing.
• Proven ability to manage e‑development and assignments for online or e‑book projects.
• Experience managing writers and subject‑matter experts on multiple high‑priority projects.
• Understanding of acceptable digital text and art formats.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in English, Project Management, e‑Learning or a related field.
