Senior Civil Engineer – Associate

About the role

AECOM India is looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join its Civil Engineering practice in Chennai. The Associate will contribute to medium‑to‑large infrastructure projects such as cultural buildings, high‑rises, airports, transit and healthcare facilities, working under senior guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and development of site grading, storm‑water drainage, sanitary and chemical sewer systems, and road & pavement layouts.
• Prepare and review electrical substation structures and foundations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models and conduct model reviews.
• Communicate with clients and manage project timelines.
• Mentor junior staff and support people‑management activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience on projects in sectors such as data‑centres, commercial, residential, hospitality, industrial or aviation.
• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or Hydraulics (master’s preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Indian codes; familiarity with US, BS or Eurocodes is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Sewer Gem, Water Gem, Civil 3D, Arc GIS, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS and Navisworks.
• Experience with BIM coordination and multidisciplinary model reviews.
• Programming or scripting ability in Python, Excel macros, Rhino, Grasshopper or Dynamo.
