Senior BIW CAD Engineer (CATIA V5/V6)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior BIW CAD Engineer to create and develop CATIA V5/V6 body engineering concepts for automotive body-in-white (BIW) panels and subsystems. The role involves delivering high-quality CAD geometry and drawings for both new and ongoing projects, ensuring manufacturing feasibility and alignment with program timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop BIW components such as underbody, front floor, dash, cowl, rear floor, bodyside, roof and related reinforcements.
• Create and maintain CAD geometry and detailed drawings in CATIA V5/V6.
• Provide CAD support, lead design progress, and ensure data maturity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Check clearances, manage interface parts, and verify manufacturing feasibility.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the Lead Engineer and ensure all project deliverables are met.
• Identify program risks and contribute to VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) proposals.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience in automotive CAD engineering.
• Proven delivery of BIW systems (underbody or upper-body) in the automotive sector.
• Strong understanding of component design, function, performance, production and manufacturing requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple levels.
