Senior Backend Software Engineer (Go)

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer with 4+ years of experience to help drive and evolve our product. Strong hands‑on experience with Go (Golang) is a must, and you will be an early contributor shaping architecture while solving complex technical challenges at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, extend and optimise a large‑scale, fault‑tolerant system that processes billions of events from hundreds of thousands of endpoints with sub‑second latency.
• Architect and implement security products that protect customer data.
• Analyse performance, troubleshoot and resolve real‑world scaling problems.
• Work with a modern microservices stack including Go, Kubernetes, BigTable, BigQuery, Spanner, Redis, Docker and Etcd.
• Write secure‑by‑design software that withstands attacks while handling untrusted data at internet scale.

Required profile

• Proven track record building back‑end systems used at enterprise scale and contributing to their architecture.
• 4+ years of experience developing large applications in Go.
• Experience with large‑scale databases and familiarity with GCP services (BigTable, BigQuery, Spanner).
• Hands‑on experience profiling and optimising distributed code and streaming platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication and ability to collaborate with distributed teams in Europe and the US.
