Senior Auditor – Internal Audit (APAC)

About the role

American Express is seeking a Senior Auditor to join its Internal Audit Group (IAG) within the APAC region. The role supports risk‑based audits across the portfolio, helping protect and enhance organizational value through independent assurance and advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in audits and related activities across the APAC portfolio.
• Analyze audit results and documentation to evaluate control effectiveness and efficiency, synthesising findings.
• Develop test steps, audit findings, and audit reports in line with IAG policies.
• Attend client meetings, walkthroughs, and regulatory exam preparations.
• Track key metrics, identify control issues, and stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes.
• Report on tasks in client meetings and assist in preparing materials for regulatory exams.
• Follow‑up with management to ensure timely closure of action plans.

Required profile

• 5+ years of audit experience in financial services or a Big 4 environment.
• BA, BS, or equivalent degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Strong understanding of control theory, audit lifecycle, and regulatory/industry best practices.
• Ability to break down complex problems, analyse data, and communicate recommendations transparently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
