Senior Associate – Production Robot Operator

About the role

The Robotic Welding Operator will set up, run, and monitor automated welding robots to produce high‑quality metal components. You will work on a fast‑paced production floor, loading parts, executing programmed weld cycles, inspecting output, and performing routine maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload raw metal parts into robotic welding fixtures.
• Select and launch appropriate welding programs via the teach pendant or control panel.
• Operate robotic welding cells (FANUC, ABB, Motoman, KUKA) following safety standards and production schedules.
• Conduct visual inspections and precision measurements of welds using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and go/no‑go gauges.
• Identify defect trends (porosity, spatter, undercut, warp) and adjust parameters or report to lead technicians.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance: clear spatter, replace tips/nozzles, check wire feed, and refill anti‑spatter fluid.
• Document production counts, quality defects, and equipment downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area in line with 5S principles and wear required PPE.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience operating robotic welding equipment or automated manufacturing machinery.
• Basic knowledge of MIG (GMAW) or TIG (GTAW) welding processes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for 8–12 hour shifts.
• Good hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.

• Interpretation of mechanical blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols.
