Senior Architect – Design, Estimation & Project Execution

About the role

Vertical Living is seeking a Senior Architect to lead residential and commercial projects from concept through hand‑over in Chennai. The role blends design creativity with hands‑on execution, requiring a solid understanding of construction methods, cost estimation, and site coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architectural concepts, layouts and detailed working drawings for residential and commercial buildings.
• Translate client requirements into practical, buildable designs and coordinate with structural, MEP and other consultants.
• Create custom interior designs for homes, offices, retail and hospitality spaces, selecting appropriate materials, finishes and furnishings.
• Conduct site measurements, prepare BOQs, cost estimates and project quotations; monitor cost against budget.
• Visit project sites regularly, supervise civil, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and finishing works, and resolve design‑execution issues.
• Plan project schedules, manage manpower and vendors, and ensure quality and compliance with approved drawings.
• Participate in client meetings to present designs, explain costs and execution methods, and incorporate feedback.

Required profile

• 1–5 years of experience in architectural design, estimation and site execution.
• Proven ability to manage projects end‑to‑end, from client brief to final handover.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials and site conditions.
• Excellent coordination skills with consultants, contractors and vendors.
• Willingness to travel to project locations as needed.
