Senior Application Support Engineer

About the role

Wilhelmsen Port Services is looking for a Senior Application Support Engineer to join its Chennai team. You will be the go‑to expert for complex production issues on Salesforce applications, ensuring smooth operations for a global port‑call business.

Key responsibilities

• Own resolution of complex production issues for Salesforce applications, acting as a senior escalation point.
• Perform deep technical troubleshooting using Apex debugging, Developer Console, Workbench, logs and monitoring tools.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis (RCA) and drive permanent fixes in collaboration with development teams.
• Contribute to custom Salesforce development (Apex, LWC, Flows, integrations) as part of planned delivery work.
• Support release activities, including deployment validation, post‑release verification and rollback support.
• Mentor mid‑level and associate support engineers.
• Maintain SOPs, runbooks and knowledge articles.

Required profile

• 10+ years of Salesforce development and/or application support experience.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Apex, Flows, Lightning Web Components, integrations and debugging tools.
• Proven experience handling production incidents and driving RCA.
• Ability to balance development and support responsibilities effectively.
• Strong communication and ownership mindset.
• Preferred certifications: Salesforce Platform Developer I or II, Salesforce Certified Administrator, ITIL® Foundation.
