Senior Android Engineer – Mobile Apps

About the role

Freshworks is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to design and deliver high‑performance mobile experiences for millions of users. You will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and QA to turn ideas into production‑ready Android applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship features using Flutter (Dart), React Native, or native Android (Kotlin/Java).
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to convert wireframes into polished Android screens.
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and UI tests to ensure code quality.
• Profile and optimise memory, network usage, startup time, rendering performance, and battery consumption.
• Implement asynchronous data loading, caching, prefetching, and background processing.
• Define and evolve mobile architecture (MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture, Repository Pattern, DI, SOLID).
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Gradle, GitHub Actions, Fastlane, Firebase App Distribution.
• Integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs, handling errors and offline scenarios.
• Partner with QA to triage bugs across device families, screen sizes, OS versions, and OEM customisations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong understanding of Android frameworks and modern libraries.
• Proven ability to mentor mid‑level engineers and champion best practices.
• Experience delivering scalable mobile products to large user bases.
