Senior Accountant (CA Inter) – Mumbai

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure statutory compliance. The role will involve close interaction with auditors, banks, and external consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Enter daily accounting transactions in Tally Prime/ERP, covering sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journal and contra entries.
• Maintain general ledger, cash, bank, customer and vendor accounts.
• Prepare and verify invoices, vouchers, debit/credit notes and supporting documentation.
• Perform bank, customer, vendor and ledger reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, monitoring outstanding payments.
• Generate Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and MIS reports.
• Handle GST, TDS and other statutory compliance filings.
• Coordinate with CA, auditors, banks and other external parties as needed.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
• Verify expenses, ensure proper approvals and documentation.
• Identify accounting discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Support budgeting, cash‑flow monitoring and other finance‑related tasks.
• Supervise and guide junior accounting staff when required.

Required profile

• Qualified CA Inter (or equivalent) with solid accounting knowledge.
• Proven experience in senior accounting roles, handling full‑cycle accounting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Capability to supervise junior staff and coordinate with external stakeholders.
