About the role
Join NIKSUN as a Security Engineer focused on vulnerability, exploit and malware research. You will create detection signatures, develop threat intelligence content, and demonstrate security features of our network protection solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Research vulnerabilities, exploits and malware, producing signatures and alarm specifications.
- Conduct threat‑intelligence research to enrich detection capabilities.
- Test security modules of NIKSUN products, including IDS, anomaly detection, blacklists and threat‑intelligence components.
- Prepare demo scripts to showcase security features to customers and partners.
Required profile
- 2‑5 years of professional experience in network security.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Security+, SSCP, GIAC, CISSP).
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, OSI layers) and security concepts (IDS/IPS, firewalls, encryption).
- Experience with open‑source packet tools such as Snort, Tcpdump and Wireshark.
- Proficiency with Windows and UNIX operating systems.
- Shell scripting experience (sh, bash, csh).
- Packet‑level analysis and IDS rule writing.
- Familiarity with source‑code control systems (Gitlab, CVS, SVN).
- Programming experience in Python and/or C/C++.
- Use of Windows Office365 applications.
