Security Architect - AVP

About the role

As a Security Partner within ANZ’s Security Domain, you will help make the organisation safer by protecting corporate and customer information. The role involves providing functional leadership, expert guidance and tools to embed security across business and technology teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review secure architectures for applications, cloud platforms, data platforms and integration patterns.
• Partner with solution architects, engineers and product teams to embed security controls early in the design lifecycle.
• Conduct architecture reviews, threat modelling and security design assessments.
• Translate enterprise security strategy and policies into actionable architecture standards and patterns.
• Advise on identity and access management, data protection, network security and cloud security decisions.
• Provide risk‑based guidance, balancing enforcement of controls with informed trade‑offs.
• Engage senior stakeholders to explain security risks and design choices in clear business language.
• Support regulatory, audit and assurance activities ensuring compliance with risk expectations.
• Stay current with emerging threats, technologies and industry best practices, evolving the architecture accordingly.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in security architecture or related fields.
