Scrub Nurse – Cath Lab (Cardiology)

About the role

The Scrub Nurse Cath Lab will join the cardiac catheterization team at Sterling Hospitals, providing sterile support and direct assistance during interventional procedures. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures a safe, efficient operating environment for physicians and patients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the catheterization laboratory, set up instruments, supplies, and maintain a sterile field.
• Assist physicians during cardiac and related interventions, anticipating procedural needs.
• Count, handle, and safely manage instruments, sponges, and other materials.
• Monitor patients pre‑, intra‑, and post‑procedure within nursing scope of practice.
• Document nursing care accurately and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Follow infection‑control protocols and participate in emergency response when required.
• Contribute to continuous quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Recognized nursing qualification (GNM, B.Sc. Nursing or equivalent) with valid council registration.
• Strong clinical foundation with experience in acute or critical care settings.
• Prior experience as a scrub nurse in a Cath Lab, cardiac OR, or similar high‑dependency unit is highly desirable.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts as needed.

• Knowledge of cardiology interventional procedures and related pharmacology.
