School Van Driver

About the role

The School Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from CS Academy campuses in Coimbatore. The role requires punctuality, adherence to traffic and safety regulations, and the ability to create a respectful environment for all passengers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the school van on assigned routes, picking up and dropping off students on time.
• Ensure student safety during boarding, travel, and alighting.
• Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain cleanliness and carry out basic vehicle maintenance.
• Report any mechanical issues or accidents promptly.
• Keep accurate attendance records and trip logs.
• Enforce safety rules, including seat‑belt usage where applicable.
• Assist students with special needs or younger children during boarding and exiting.
• Cooperate with school authorities, parents, and other drivers.
• Attend scheduled training sessions or meetings.

Required profile

• Valid driving licence appropriate for a passenger van.
• Good knowledge of local traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Ability to interact courteously with children, parents and school staff.
• Willingness to maintain the vehicle and report issues promptly.

Required skills

• Safe driving techniques and defensive driving.
• Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance skills.
• Record‑keeping for attendance and trip logs.
