About the role

The school nurse provides essential health services to students, promoting healthy habits and supporting their wellbeing so they can succeed academically. The primary purpose of pupil health services is to help pupils develop attitudes and practices that lead to healthy, happy lives, encourage them to take responsibility for their own health, and assist in identifying health issues that significantly affect classroom learning.

Key responsibilities

• Help pupils develop attitudes and follow practices that promote healthful and happy lives.
• Assist in determining when health problems significantly affect children in the classroom.
• Provide specific health services directly impacting pupils’ ability to learn.
• Work under the direction of the Director of Student Services and coordinate with school principals.

Required profile

• B.S. Degree in Nursing.
• Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Valid California School Nurse Services Credential.
• Bilingual Spanish desirable.
• Copy of transcript, RN license, credential, three recent letters of recommendation (one from a direct supervisor), and a resume.
