School Helper – Cleaning & Maintenance

About the role

The School Helper provides general support to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment for students and staff. This role focuses on daily cleaning tasks across classrooms, offices, restrooms and common areas, ensuring hygiene standards are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways and other school facilities.
• Maintain and restock cleaning supplies and report any equipment issues.
• Monitor hygiene standards and promptly address any concerns.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrative staff to respond to specific cleaning needs.
• Document usage of supplies and equipment for inventory control.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in cleaning, janitorial or facilities support.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, lift equipment and stand for extended periods.
• Commitment to safeguarding children and adhering to health and safety policies.

Required skills

• Knowledge of cleaning best practices and proper use of cleaning equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
