SAP ABAP Manager – Advisory Services (Chennai)

About the role

PwC is looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Manager to join its Advisory practice in Chennai. You will lead the design, development and delivery of custom SAP solutions, helping clients optimise their business processes and achieve strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy custom SAP ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements and forms (RICEF objects).
• Maintain SmartForms, SAPScripts, Adobe Forms and ALV reports.
• Create and manage user exits, BADIs, BAPIs and enhancement spots.
• Build and support integrations between SAP and external systems using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs and Web Services.
• Collaborate with functional consultants (SD, MM, FI, PP, etc.) to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Analyse and optimise ABAP code for performance and scalability; conduct code reviews and enforce SAP development standards.
• Provide ongoing support, maintenance and training to ensure seamless adoption of SAP applications.

Required profile

• Proven experience in SAP ABAP development and delivery within a consulting environment.
• Strong understanding of SAP functional modules such as SD, MM, FI and PP.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
• Managerial mindset with a focus on quality, performance and client satisfaction.
