Sales Associate (Retail)

About the role

The Sales Associate will work full‑time on‑site at VWMart’s Nawanshahr store, greeting customers and helping them find the products they need. You will ensure a friendly, professional shopping environment while supporting daily store operations.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers, understand their needs and guide them to appropriate products.
• Maintain tidy and well‑stocked shelves, arrange displays and verify product labels and pricing.
• Operate the billing counter and POS system, processing cash and digital payments accurately.
• Handle basic customer queries or concerns and assist with promotional activities.
• Support inventory counts, stock replenishment and store cleanliness throughout all shifts.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with clear communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting stock.
• Reliability, punctuality and willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Minimum high school education or equivalent; basic numeracy and literacy.
• Prior experience in grocery or retail sales is a plus but not mandatory.

• Operation of point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and accurate cash handling.
