Safety Manager – Data Center & Construction

About the role

The Safety Manager will lead occupational health, safety and environmental (EHS) initiatives across data centre, industrial and construction projects in Mumbai. You will work closely with senior management, project managers and on‑site teams to ensure a zero‑incident environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute and review safety plans, documents and risk assessments for interior fit‑out, base‑build, industrial and data‑centre projects.
• Coordinate safety activities with project managers, EHS teams and clients, ensuring compliance with statutory norms and local laws.
• Conduct safety inductions, re‑inductions and continuous monitoring of workforce access, PPE usage and site compliance.
• Perform regular safety inspections, Gemba walks and hazard analyses; compile statistical reports for management.
• Manage work‑permit authorisation, traffic management, electrical, height, excavation, lifting, scaffolding, confined‑space and LOTO procedures.
• Evaluate contractor safety competency, guide contractors on HIRA/JSA, method statements and corrective actions.
• Lead weekly safety meetings, document violations and initiate disciplinary actions as per the consequence matrix.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of experience in safety management for data centres, construction or industrial environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with senior leadership.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead an EHS team.
