Ruby on Rails Developer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Ruby on Rails developer to join our growing engineering team. You will work closely with our New Zealand colleagues to design, build, and maintain high‑performance web applications that serve our customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Ruby on Rails applications with a focus on clean, testable code.
• Design, optimise, and manage PostgreSQL databases, including query optimisation and schema design.
• Deploy, monitor, and support applications on AWS services such as RDS, EC2, SES, AMI and Load Balancer.
• Collaborate using Git and modern software development practices (code reviews, CI/CD).
• Implement front‑end features using jQuery, HTML5, SCSS and Bootstrap on Ubuntu servers.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and background job processing pipelines.
• Participate in performance tuning of Rails applications and integrate AI/LLM APIs where required.
• Communicate effectively in English and contribute to problem‑solving discussions with the remote team.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of commercial experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a distributed team.
