Rolling Stock Electrical Engineer & Project Manager

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking a seasoned professional to lead the design and project management of electrical and electronic systems for rolling stock. You will work on power electronic traction and auxiliary converters/inverters, ensuring they meet customer specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualise, design, develop, validate and introduce power electronic converters/inverters for rail applications.
• Create power schemes, perform system simulations and validate converter performance.
• Select and design components such as magnetics, heat sinks, capacitors, contactors, resistors, fuses, blowers, low‑inductive busbars and cables.
• Generate component specifications, test strategies and cooling solutions (air and water).
• Apply PLM processes, conduct FMEA, and adhere to IEC, EN and IS rail standards.
• Plan and execute projects, monitor cost‑reduction measures and manage risk assessments.

Required profile

• 5‑15 years of experience in engineering design of converters/inverters for rail or industrial applications.
• Strong background in electrical system design, electronic circuit design, power electronics and control electronics.
• Proven ability in component selection, low‑cost design, product costing and concept testing.
• Experience with PLM project management and decision‑making in complex engineering environments.
• Excellent communication, leadership and English language skills.
