Road Operations Manager – Vendor Management

About the role

The role focuses on aligning dispatch plans and plant output, ensuring vehicle availability through effective vendor management, and maintaining rail relationships to meet the supply chain requirements of UltraTech Cement across India.

Key responsibilities

• Align dispatch plans with plant output and ensure timely vehicle availability.
• Conduct route mapping, identify alternative routes and maintain a toll and fleet availability database.
• Build and sustain long‑term relationships with Indian Railways and improve loading/unloading infrastructure.
• Manage vendors to optimize cost of delivery, mode of delivery, service level, quality protection and handling operations.
• Resolve freight payment disputes and claims in coordination with accounts.
• Gather market intelligence on sectoral fleet availability, tolls and provide inputs for fleet inflow/outflow and per‑ton‑per‑km analysis.

Required profile

• Experience in logistics, supply chain or transportation management, preferably in cement or heavy industry.
• Familiarity with rail operations and vendor management.
• Ability to analyze cost, route and market data to drive efficiency.
