Retail Cashier

About the role

As a Retail Cashier at Meijer you will be the front‑line ambassador, delivering fast and friendly service to shoppers in the checkout lane. You will use store technology to process purchases and create positive “WOW” moments that encourage customers to return.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system to accurately complete transactions and handle all forms of payment.
• Utilize store technology and tools to assist customers efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized checkout area and ensure accurate cash handling.
• Provide courteous, attentive service, answering customer questions and resolving issues.
• Build trustful relationships with shoppers to promote repeat visits.

Required profile

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong listening and communication skills, both face‑to‑face and virtual.
• Eagerness to learn and use job‑specific technology.
• Problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
• Friendly, outgoing attitude and ability to work with customers.
• Previous retail or customer‑service experience preferred but not required.
