Retail Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Retail Accountant to oversee end‑to‑end accounting for our perfume showroom network in Mumbai. The role involves managing sales accounting, stock accounting, cash handling and GST compliance across multiple retail locations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain day‑to‑day accounting for retail showroom operations.
• Handle sales accounting for cash, card, UPI and online transactions.
• Manage stock accounting including inward, outward, transfers, valuation and reconciliation.
• Monitor inventory movement and coordinate with stores to resolve discrepancies.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of cash, bank, card and POS transactions.
• Prepare and maintain MIS reports on sales, stock, margins and expenses.
• Ensure GST compliance – filing returns, reconciliations and documentation.
• Coordinate with store managers and sales teams for accurate data reporting.
• Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Maintain proper documentation, vouchers and provide audit support.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of accounting experience in retail or showroom sales.
• Strong knowledge of stock and inventory accounting.
• Hands‑on experience with retail billing and POS systems.
• Good understanding of GST, TDS and basic statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in Tally or other ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
• Ability to manage high‑volume retail transactions and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
