Research Associate – Synthetic Organic Chemistry (IISER Tirupati)

About the role

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati invites applications for a Research Associate‑1 position within the DST‑funded Nodal Center project. The role focuses on developing and producing key starting materials, intermediates, and raw materials required by the healthcare sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute synthetic routes for organic compounds relevant to healthcare applications.
• Develop supramolecular assemblies and study homochirality versus heterochirality phenomena.
• Prepare and characterize biomaterials, hydrogels, and organogels.
• Maintain detailed laboratory records and contribute to high‑quality research publications.
• Collaborate with principal investigators and project staff to meet project milestones.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Chemistry (candidates awaiting award may also apply).
• Demonstrated research experience in synthetic organic or supramolecular chemistry.
• Experience with biomaterials, hydrogel, or organogel synthesis is preferred.
• Age preferably not more than 40 years at the closing date.

• Monthly stipend of Rs. 58,000 + 10% HRA for candidates holding a Ph.D. certificate.
• Monthly stipend of Rs. 42,000 + 10% HRA for candidates awaiting Ph.D. award, with supporting documentation.
