Repair Electrician

About the role

The Repair Electrician ensures the continuous and safe operation of high, medium and low voltage electrical equipment in an industrial plant. The role involves installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and testing of electrical systems to meet production requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Dismantle, assemble and perform major and minor repairs on substations and other high, medium and low voltage equipment.
• Organise continuous, quality operation of electrical devices by ensuring proper installation and servicing.
• Centralise and connect engines and other equipment according to schematics, identify defects and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in testing procedures after repairs to verify compliance with normal parameters.
• Maintain, install and dismantle all cable lines within the plant, including connections and terminations.
• Carry out repair work on overhead air lines, de‑energise them safely and reconnect as required.
• Monitor the condition of operational and standby voltage sources continuously.
• Inspect, repair and install relay protection schemes.
• Adjust, replace and repair switches, circuit breakers, low‑high and medium‑voltage switches in substations and electrical rooms.
• Conduct comprehensive testing after major repairs to prepare equipment for operation.
• Use tools, devices and protective equipment efficiently and store them according to regulations.
• Observe occupational safety and technical safety rules at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness of substations and electrical rooms.
• Assist in the repair, inspection and operation of new dry‑type furnace electrical equipment.
• Perform electrical‑mounting tasks and work in rotating shifts when necessary.
