Registered Pharmacist – Hospital Pharmacy (Bangalore)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Registered Pharmacist to join our multidisciplinary team at Mind and Brain Hospital, a 50‑bed neuropsychiatric centre in Bangalore. The pharmacist will work on‑site, dispensing psychiatric and neuro‑related medications, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while supporting patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately dispense medications according to physician prescriptions and verify dosages.
• Maintain and update pharmacy inventory, monitor expiry dates, and organise storage following safety standards.
• Counsel patients and caregivers on proper medication use, possible side effects and drug interactions.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses and other clinical staff to support treatment plans and medication reconciliation.
• Participate in medication safety initiatives, audits and documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
• Handle controlled substances and ensure compliance with local pharmacy laws and infection‑control protocols.

Required profile

• Valid registration with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and a Bachelor’s or Diploma in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
• Experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting, preferably with exposure to psychiatry, neurology or behavioral health medications.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosage calculations and prescription interpretation.
• Excellent communication skills for patient counseling and teamwork.
• Willingness to work shifts in a fast‑paced environment and commit to continuous professional development.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy or hospital information systems for documentation and reporting.
• Inventory management and controlled‑substance handling.
