R&D Logistics Associate – Import/Export Specialist

About the role

The R&D Logistics Associate will manage the end‑to‑end import and export of chemicals, instruments and equipment for our Crop Protection research division. You will ensure shipments comply with international regulations and reach their destinations safely and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare shipment documentation including invoices, packing lists, SDS, CoA and other regulatory papers.
• Define logistics modes in line with IATA, IMDG and other safety guidelines.
• Coordinate with import/export teams on HS codes and work with customs clearing agents for seamless clearance.
• Notify consignees and forwarders of shipment status and continuously monitor shipments from receipt to delivery.
• Maintain records of all import/export activities, including TSE/BSE certificates for shipments to the USA.
• Collaborate with APR/HP teams to implement and update shipment SOPs.
• Create purchase requisitions for chemicals, consumables, instruments, equipment, AMC and capex items.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, product safety, dual‑use technology regulations and act as the authorized safety person for transportation and distribution.
• Utilise ERP and supply‑chain systems for logistics management and support internal/external audits.

Required profile

• Master’s degree, preferably in commerce.
• 5–10 years of logistics experience, ideally handling R&D sample shipments worldwide.
• Fluent communication skills.
• Proactive, result‑driven and entrepreneurial attitude.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IATA and IMDG regulations.
• Experience with HS code classification and customs clearance processes.
• Familiarity with ERP and supply‑chain management systems.
• Strong record‑keeping and documentation skills.
• Understanding of EHS, product safety and dual‑use technology compliance.
